A Clear Mind Is True Power

There’s a very well known fact that many of us take for granted. What we focus on influences our subconscious mind therefore influencing the outcomes of our lives.

Understanding this is important because we are constantly bombarded with all kinds of information in this day and age.

The subconscious mind is a huge store house of everything that ever happened to us. I will even argue that the subconscious mind also has access to the ethereal material that allows for us to tap into creative genius.

The subconscious mind is always recording what is happening around us. It’s capacity is pretty much unlimited. It is certainly where our genius resides.

The function of the subconscious mind is to store data that when retrieved, responds in real time to circumstances via our childhood conditioning.

The subconscious mind contains much of the programming we’ve received in the early years of our lives. It has the power to make everything you think, say and do fit a pattern that is consistent with your self-image. Your self image is the avatar by which you navigate the world.

But it’s not fixed.

This is why affirmations are so powerful. We have the ability to reprogram our minds via repetition of our desired mind state. When you deploy positive affirmations against your subconscious, it re-configures the patterns by which you operate.

This is where we also need to be careful.

What we consume, eventually consumes us despite what it is.

As Above, So Below

Your subconscious mind accepts everything as true. Whether information is perceived as negative or positive by the conscious mind, the gatekeeper of the subconscious, the subconscious mind still accepts information as true. In other words, the subconscious mind is subjective.

Here are some ways your subconscious mind is influenced without you even knowing.

  • Osmosis — you can think of your subconscious mind as containing a permeable membrane of sorts. Through this membrane comes many of the information we receive from our senses. This information has the power to influence or program our subconscious mind.
  • Emotions — the stronger the emotional responses a piece of data elicits, the stronger the impression. This is why it is important to guard your heart. You have to be-careful of who you trust because you’re potentially allowing someone to mold your subconscious through emotional episodes.
  • Hypnosis — this is a method by which the conscious mind is bypassed through distraction in order to access the subconscious mind. It’s similar to the way a magician uses the art of redirection to create the illusion of magic.
  • Suggestion — suggestion is a subliminal way of planting thoughts in the subconscious mind that sprout into full blown programming. A mind virus by way of insinuation is another way to bypass the conscious mind. It can be done in an insidious manner by poison dripping the subconscious with toxic idea seeds that can potentially take over.

Information We Need To Be Weary Of

Here are 3 examples of content mediums that you should be weary of. I know this is obvious but many of us just do not take this seriously enough. These are the main mediums by which we are eroding our mental health with.

Social Media

The current state of the internet is toxic. Social media is addictive, people hide behind screens to troll and the inherent disconnect is not good for our inbuilt social hardwiring.

Social media was designed to be addictive. That is not a mystery anymore. I’m not even going to cite any studies for you. All I’m going to ask you to do is try to put your phone down for more than 30 minutes without picking it up.

Because of our innate social hardwiring, we access our social status by comparing where we are in life to where others are in life. What better way to have an instant evaluation than to partake in the voyeuristic experiment that is social media?

The harmful aspect of social media is that we compare our lows to other people’s highlights. People rarely post when they’re having a rough time. This is because, again, we were hardwired to elevate social status.

The News

The news or mainstream media is another culprit that wears away at our mental health via the subconscious. In order to get clicks, the MSM exploits our negativity bias with clickbait headlines.

We have the impulse to move our gaze towards potential danger as so to avoid it. Exploitation of anticipated regret is then used to push whatever the call to action is selling.

Not only does this erode out bank balances, it erodes our ability of discernment. Our amygdala is constantly sent into overdrive. Therefore we can’t tell the difference between fear and legitimate danger.

Are you burnt out on outrage yet? Stop watching the news.

I’ll also like to mention that the MSM uses social media to amplify its signal of fear, anger, bigotry.

I’ll then be inclined to ask you, how much of what you think are actually your thoughts?

People in your inner circle

Your enemy is right next to you. In your house, place of work, etc. The people you have the closest relationships with influence you more than you know.

You know the adage, “birds of a feather flock together.”

You’re the average of the five people you spend the most time with.

When you’re surrounded with neurotic, fear driven individuals, you become neurotic and fear driven by osmosis. There’s no getting around it.

If you surround yourself with people who are poverty minded, you become poverty minded.

When you surround yourself with people who are abundance minded, motivated, disciplined, your life reflects that.

Your Protection Against Psychic Influence

Live chat community networks via social media

The one thing I will say that we need to exploit in this day and age is the “live” sessions that social media allows for communities. Congregating with like minded individuals via group chat, community dynamics is a way to offset the negative circles we find ourselves in. I say just cut the toxic individuals off in your circle all together.

Goodnews

I’ve been subscribed to the Good News Networkfor quite a bit of time which is one of the reasons why I’m silver lined minded. My optimism actually makes some people sick but I don’t care. Who wants to be burnt out on content that constantly feeds you the notion that “the world is burning?”

The Good News Network has an app, you should check it out.

Guard the mind with meditation

I practice meditation everyday so as to not get identified with thoughts that will carry me away. What does it feel like to get carried away by a thought? Panic. You panic. Or if it is a good thought, you feel optimism and invigoration.

You have more authority as to which thoughts you get carried away by when you meditate. Meditation allows for your state of presence to grow. With this increased presence you can easily thwart attacks on your subconscious.

When we get carried away by our thoughts we leave our subconscious mind open to attack. It’s like the magician analogy I used except we are leaving the gate open for malevolent forces.

Read inspiration

Read books that carry a high level of inspiration. Books are special because they contain a magnitude of consciousness that fortifies our subconscious. Many books are well researched whether it’s through experience or academia. Either way, pick an author that you trust and read all their work.

A good inspirational book can serve for a large, extended, source of affirmation for the subconscious.

Don’t Forget About Your Conscious Mind

The conscious mind is the command center of the mind. It is where you direct your focus. It is the executive.

Your subconscious mind obeys your conscious mind. The subconscious mind isn’t loyal, though. As hinted at before the subconscious mind obeys the conscious mind of others. In order words the subconscious mind obeys the conscious mind. Hence why I started this piece off with the importance of protecting it and how you can protect it.

To further push the point across I want you to understand that you conscious mind as the power to control how your perceive the world and it’s information therefore filtering preferred information into the subconscious mind.

If the subconscious mind is the garden, the conscious mind is the gardener. The mental formations you plant via seeds in the subconscious mind has the potential to grow flowers or weeds. Don’t let the weeds take the garden!

The shadow and the conscious

I’ve spoken a bit about the shadow in some of my other content. One aspect of the shadow as it relates to the conscious and subconscious mind is that portions of out subconscious mind contains shadow behavior that keeps us locked into our comfort zones.

This is why I push discipline over motivation. Motivation operates on the emotional, subconscious level while discipline deploys executive power over your whole being. Discipline allows for you to harness the power of habits by consciously setting healthy, productive habits.

So what we have discussed here is the power of your subconscious mind. It has the ability to help you create a successful life or to destroy you by carrying you off a cliff.

But it is the direction of the your attention through your conscious mind that leads you to your promised land.

Cherish the information you’re putting into your senses just as much as you cherish the food you put into your body.
